Elvis Presley Enterprises Files Copyright Infringement Suits

Elvis Presley Enterprises recently sued individuals in England and the Northern District of Florida, claiming copyright infringement and illegal sale of a DVD and CD box set of recordings and footage of the singer’s performances.

Reports indicate that the company, who owns copyrights on the materials in the suits, claim that the Box set includes footage from a 1977 television special called “Elvis in Concert” and raw footage of Elvis in Omaha, Neb., and Rapid City, South Dakota.

Following E-Trade Resolution, Internet Users Banned from Referencing Lohan

As we previously blogged, Lindsay Lohan filed suit in 2010 against online trading company E-Trade for an advertisement that featured a baby, “Lindsay” who was a ”Milkaholic.”  Since then, E-Trade’s website has added a feature that allows the average site visitor to create their own talking baby and decide what the talking baby message will say.

Reports now indicate that, although Lohan and E-Trade reached a resolution outside of court, online users who create their own talking baby messages are banned from using “Lindsay” and “Milkaholic” in their custom messages.

Florida’s New Hardest Hit Program to Help Struggling Homeowners

Florida’s Hardest Hit program opens up for applications next month. Through the program, thousands of struggling homeowners in Florida will receive up to a year-and-a-half’s worth of mortgage payments.

If approved, the highest a homeowner can receive is $35,000.00.  The money can be used to make loan payments for up to 18 months and to bring delinquent loans current.
